Invoicer vs Big Red Cloud
Big Red Cloud is an Irish accounting package, built for Irish bookkeeping and VAT returns, and well known to Irish accountants. It covers the books as well as invoicing.
Invoicer is also Irish, but it does less and goes deeper on one job: invoicing and getting paid. It is not a replacement for a bookkeeping package.

Choose Big Red Cloud if
- You want your bookkeeping, bank reconciliation and VAT returns done in one Irish package.
- Several people need access and unlimited users matters to you.
- Your accountant uses Big Red Cloud.
Choose Invoicer if
- Your accountant does the books and you need a simple way to invoice and get paid.
- You want customers to pay by card or direct debit from the invoice.
- You bill customers on a regular subscription.
- You self-bill contractors or drivers.
If you already use Big Red Cloud for the books, Invoicer can sit in front of it for invoicing and collection, with a CSV export of your invoices for the ledger.
What Invoicer does
- Irish VAT invoices: 23%, 13.5%, 9%, 4.8%, zero-rated, exempt and reverse charge, line by line, with the breakdown by rate
- Card and SEPA Direct Debit payments through your own Stripe account (about €0.35 per direct debit)
- Customer subscriptions that raise an invoice each period and mark it paid when the payment arrives
- Quotes, and a VAT return summary of what you have invoiced
- Section 71 self-billing for businesses that pay contractors or drivers
- An EN 16931 UBL e-invoice file with every invoice, ready for Peppol
- Contracts signed online by both sides
It does not do bookkeeping, bank feeds or payroll. If you need those, use an accounting package alongside it or instead of it.
